Mr. Kwan helps institutional investors optimize their portfolios through developing and implementing investment strategies, navigating capital markets, managing risk, and improving governance policies. He leads client engagements as both a strategic advisor and an OCIO, which include public pensions, endowments & foundations, and corporate retirement plans. As head of the public sector team, he is responsible for strategies across client service, business development, and resource management. He is a member of the management committee, a member of the alternative investments committee, and a shareholder of the firm. He is also a frequent speaker at industry conferences
Prior to joining Verus, Mr. Kwan spent several years in both research and consulting capacities with William O’Neil & Company, an equity research firm based in Los Angeles. His experience during this tenure includes multi-factor model analysis, financial statement analysis, and client relationship management. He also served as the energy sector lead and a member of the research committee
Mr. Kwan holds a master of business administration (MBA) degree from the University of Southern California – Marshall School of Business and a bachelor of science (BS) degree in finance from California State University, Long Beach. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, a Chartered Alternative Investments Analyst (CAIA) charterholder, and a member of the CAIA Southwest Executive Board.
