Verus is pleased to announce our most recent Topic of Interest research paper, titled “Something Fishy in Private Equity”, which can be viewed here.
Most investment processes were designed for public markets. In those markets there are a wide range of available products that an investor can choose at any time. That is not the case in private markets. The differences between public and private markets suggest that the approach investors take to those markets should also be different. Investors should tailor their approach to the challenges of each market and ensure a prudent process that aligns with the issues involved to reach a specific decision. In particular, investors should not expect that there should always be a wide range of exceptional private market products available at the same time, but may have to move rapidly when an attractive opportunity appears.
